From the Head of School

Dear Goshen community,

Muchos Gracias to everyone for all that you do to make our school a unique and vibrant place! Earth Day was a beautiful day, thanks to the glorious weather and the many teachers, families, and General Committee members who came out to help us spruce up the property. I am truly grateful to all for all that you did. Thank you!

And what a spread we had for our first Fiesta today! The children LOVED all of the delicious offerings from parents who donated cheeses, chips, salsas, beans and rice, and Tres Leches cake. Thank you to the teachers for their lessons in the wonders of Mexico and for inspiring the children to create beautiful works of art. And a special thanks to Maestra Maria-Elena, who loves to share her native Spanish language and who patiently and enthusiastically taught the children the Mexican Hat Dance. We are looking forward to Fiesta Round Two tomorrow!

We have just five weeks left in the school year! There are many fun events planned in the coming days, but I wanted to give a special shout-out for the  Year-End Potluck Picnic and Clothesline Art Show on Friday, May 18 at 5:30 p.m. here on campus. Each student will have several pieces on display, so we hope you'll come out to support your little artist and enjoy the final picnic of the year!

Please note that the last day of school is Thursday, May 24. On Friday, May 25, there will be no school or Extended Care and the administration office will be closed. Camp begins on Tuesday, May 29.

Have a great week!

In Friendship,
Mimi

Parents' Night Out was a huge success! The GPC would especially like to thank Teachers Patrice, Carolyn, Kim, and Crissy for giving up their Friday night to care for our children.

The final GPC gathering of the school year will be held on May 16 at Jeanne Czubaroff's house. If you'd like to bring an appetizer or dessert, please sign up at this link!

May Service Project

Our final service project of the school year, in May, will support Home of the Sparrow, which partners with single women, mothers, and their children facing homelessness to secure housing, achieve long-term stability, and chart new paths for their futures.

We will be doing a donation drive for much-needed personal, household, and cleaning items, including diapers, baby wipes, dish soap, laundry detergent, and other supplies from Home of the Sparrow's Needs List.

Also, be sure to save the date for  Thursday, May 3, from noon to 2 p.m.,  for our final Service Project gathering in the Grange! PA State Representative Carolyn Comitta will be visiting Goshen Friends to thank our students, faculty, and families for their generosity and hard work to help our community this school year. A representative from Home of the Sparrow will also be in attendance to tell us more about the organization.

To RSVP for the May 3 event, please download and complete this form & return via backpack or email [email protected]. Thank you!
