Terrific news: The risers are in place, and all Holiday Programs will be held in our historic Grange! The Lower School program is this Thursday, 12/8, with Kindergarten and 1st grade starting at 6 p.m. and 2nd through 4th grades starting at 7 p.m. Preschool programs are next week - G, A1, & B1 on Wednesday, 12/14, at 11 a.m. and C, A3, & B3 on Thursday, 12/15, at 11 a.m. All are welcome at our Holiday Programs!
Thanks!

Thank you to Michael Brun and his CraigsList post for risers. His speedy response and cooperation with our scheduling means that holiday concerts will all be held in the Grange!  Thanks also to the Stratton family for facilitating every step of acquiring the risers and Tom McGee for his extra hands.

To the community, many thanks for making my birthday special. I won't eat another donut until 2017!

And a special thanks to the Quakerism class for their maturity and insight as we continue to study activism in the 1960s. One student reflected on what we've learned as follows:

Goshen Parent Community

In holiday tradition, the GPC's monthly December meeting will be an informal gathering. Please RSVP by December 8 (note new date to RSVP!)  to Jeanne Czubaroff ( [email protected] ) if you plan to attend.

Future GPC meetings  will be Friday mornings at 9 a.m. in the Meetinghouse. Save the dates for  January 6, February 3, March 3, April 7, and May 5.

Extended Care is hosting our Holiday Craft Week December 12 through December 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:30 to 3 p.m. We will be creating holiday crafts, baking cookies, and reading holiday-inspired books.

Our Pie Day pizza program on Fridays is a hit and will continue to run the rest of the year!

Tech Time

In case you missed it, the new edition of Tech Time is here!  In the latest issue, Tr. Scott invites everyone to check out students' recent 3D printer projects and describes what students will be working on in December (including the school's participation in the Hour of Coding this week). It is almost time to exhale and truly enjoy the peace of this wonderful season. Blessings to all!

In Other News

Goshen Giving and Operation Santa collections are underway! Once again we will be brightening the holidays for residents of the Devereux PA Children's IDD Services (formerly the Kanner Center), which provides high-quality residential treatment and special education services to over 300 children and adolescents ages 6 to 21 with mental disabilities. Many of these residents have no families and rely on the generosity of the community for their Christmas wishes to come true. To find out more about how you can help this holiday season, click here! Contact Patrice Brown by phone at (484) 753-1783 or email at [email protected] with questions.

We love grandparents! We also know that many of them want to be engaged with Goshen Friends in various ways. If you would like your child's grandparents to receive the Goshen Weekly to keep them up-to-date on holiday concerts, school fundraisers, and other exciting news and events, please send their contact information (including email address) to Michele Kornegay at [email protected]

How great is this? Contributions to Goshen Friends School on Giving Tuesday exceeded $3000! Thanks to all who donated!

Tell your friends and neighbors about "Meet Us on Mondays," mini open houses/drop-in tours that do not have to be scheduled. The next Meet Us on Monday is scheduled for  December 12. Future dates are January 9 and January 23. All begin at 9:30 a.m. For more information, email Mimi Ackers by clicking here.

Save the Date! On Monday, January 16, families are invited to gather on campus in the Extended Care Room from 10 to 11 a.m. for a celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr.  We will be creating cards and bookmarks for Senior Community Service's Home-Delivered Meal Program. Look for more information in the new year!
