The Great Coconut Drift Race
Send us on a trip and see where we end up!

Octifest is less than a week away and we are going to do something a little different. This year, we will combine a little ocean science, a little fun and a little contest - all to raise scholarship funding for Sanibel Sea School.
Sanibel Sea School routinely uses coconuts to study current patterns in the Gulf of Mexico. Our students paint up coconuts, we put a tag on them, and ask the finder to note the location of the coconut and call Sanibel Sea School. In the past we have had coconuts returned to us from as far away as Deerfield Beach on the east coast of Florida. We still have many out there, so we are awaiting a call from far-away lands.
During this 2012 Octifest celebration we will sell numbered coconuts. The following day, we will release the coconuts offshore from Sanibel Island. The 'owner' of the first coconut reported back to Sanibel Sea School will win their choice of either a solitary diamond appraised at $4999, or a $5000 gift certificate to Lily's Jewelry on Sanibel Island.

Your donation towards The Great Coconut Drift Race helps local families in need, program subsidization and our five years of success as a program for the Pace Center for Girls in Fort Myers. We can do more with the scholarship funds we raise this year as we are proud to have added a new affiliation with the Pine Manor Improvement Association, serving the youth of Pine Manor, a Ft. Myers neighborhood that faces severe socioeconomic challenges.
If you can't join us for the event, but would like to participate by helping us raise these important scholarship funds, please buy yourself a coconut, or two, or three and enter the chance to win this great coconut race.
Each coconut is $50 and you can buy them now by using the paypal button below.
Thank you for all your support and I wish you well in the Great Coconut Drift Race!
