Jeremy Joseph makes mark for Queen of Peace
Jeremy Joseph is now ranked No. 1 on the list of Queen of Peace’s all-time boys basketball scorers.

Jeremy became the Golden Griffins’ scoring leader Thursday after producing 27 points in a 64-24 victory over Leonia. That gave him 1,421 points, surpassing the 1,418 scored by 1985 graduate Guy Indyk.

"It feels great, because when I came into the school freshman year, I would look up at the banner every practice and every game and I would say, ‘I want to be on the 1,000-point banner,’ " said Joseph, who lives in North Arlington.

He surpassed 1,000 points as a junior, and he’s averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds this season. Joseph has helped guide a young team to a share of first place in the NJIC Liberty Division, with two division games remaining.

Queen of Peace (18-5) is tied with Dwight-Englewood and can guarantee itself no worse than a share of the title with a win today at New Milford and a win Thursday at Secaucus. Its final regular-season game is Friday at Montclair Immaculate. A week from today, the fourth-seeded Golden Griffins host No. 13 Newark Academy in the first round of the North Non-Public B tournament.
