University of South Alabama to offer Hospitality and Tourism Management courses in Gulf Shores
The University of South Alabama and the City of Gulf Shores have announced an agreement to offer USA courses at the Gulf Shores Cultural Center, paving the way for south Baldwin County students to earn an undergraduate degree from USA in Hospitality and Tourism Management. USA will begin offering the classes in January, when the University begins its 2015 spring semester.

Running Scared 5k Run/Walk and Wicked Woods Halloween Festival offer fun for all ages
Running Scared is back and promises to be a fun treat for people of all ages. The Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail Foundation will host the revival of locals-favorite Running Scared 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run on Oct. 25, 2014. The run will take place inside the Backcountry Trail just before dusk to provide a spooky yet family-friendly after party atmosphere. The City of Gulf Shores has officially released the lineup for the 2015 Entertainment Series. The Entertainment Series, now in its 28th year at the Erie H. Gulf Shores unveils Turtle Tracks art on parade program
The beaches of Gulf Shores are well known for being home to endangered sea turtles, but soon they won't be the only place you will find these sea-dwelling reptiles.

 

The City of Gulf Shores, along with the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber and the Gulf Coast Arts Alliance, unveiled "Turtle Tracks™", a public art project dedicated to the awareness and support of environmental conservation, sustainable tourism, and community arts and culture, while enhancing the quality of life along Coastal Alabama.

  • Gulf Shores Utilities recycles used cooking oil. Drop off your jug of used oil at their office and pick up an empty jug to reuse.
  • Publix accepts styrofoam and plastic bags at the front of their store.
  • The UPS Store will accept packaging popcorn and bubble wrap.


Fitness on Fire

Saturday, October 25 - 9 - 11 a.m.

Set your workout on fire at the Bodenhamer Recreation Center on Saturday, October 25.

Fitness on Fire is a 90 minute total body workout that is designed, taught and used by Gulf Shores firefighters to help torch calories and extinguish fat.

$10 per person. All proceeds benefit the Gulf Shores Fire Department.
