The HVO Net Connection
Dear Friends,

Last February, the World Health Organization launched a new initiative, Rehabilitation 2030 . The goal is to make rehabilitation affordable and accessible to those who need it, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where many needs go unmet.

Interestingly, this was an area of great need that HVO identified in 2014 as part of its strategic planning sessions. Given HVO’s experience working with physical therapy and broader rehabilitation projects, we determined that HVO would expand its profile in rehabilitation. A meeting was held this past summer, which pulled together a number of volunteers, physical therapists, and others working in rehabilitation to generate ideas to move this effort forward. It was an exciting time together, and we are developing plans that resulted from the discussions.

As we continue this work, I hope to see many of you working in the field of rehabilitation at CSM next month, where we can informally continue those discussions.

Sincerely,

Nancy
