Message from the Board.....
Student Representative Message....
The UNLV ASID Student Chapter continues it's biannual lecture series this month with support of M|R Design Lab and the College of Fine Arts Alumni Foundation. The M|R Design Lab Lecture Series was created to support, educate and connect the students of the UNLV School of Architecture. The series features eminent professionals from all aspects of Interior Design, from textile designers to distinguished interior designers who are nationally and internationally renowned. We plan to host one series per semester. The series is open to all students and faculty that wish to attend and an invitation is extended to the local interior design professionals. The goal of the series is to connect the students with interior design professionals while educating them on the many facets of interior design. The lecture series consists of an hour long meet and great where the students are given an opportunity to mingle with local design professionals, along with an hour long lecture on a specific topic. The topic of discussion is dependent on the guest speaker, but is focused on interior design. The series ends with an open question and answer portion to allow the students to learn more about the specific topic.  The lecture series is free of charge to attendees and is sponsored by M|R Design Lab.

As of today, we have hosted two lectures; the first with Lori Weitzner, Designer of Weitzner wallcovering and textiles; the second with Roger Thomas, Executive Vice President of Wynn Design and Development and Principal of The Roger Thomas Collection. Both events were greatly successful in educating the students and bringing in local design professionals.

This month, UNLV ASID Student Chapter and M|R Design Lab invites you to attend an influential discussion by Todd-Avery Lenahan, Principal of TAL Studio and dynamic leader in hospitality design.

Best Regards,

ASID/UNLV Student Chapter

Charity of the Year.....
The Folded Flag Foundation
This year our chapter has selected a charity to support through the 2015-2016 fiscal term.

The Charity is The Folded Flag Foundation, a charity that raises money for military families who have lost their loved ones in combat.  At
the Folded Flag Foundation, all donations - 100%- go directly to the qualifying families in need!

Folded Flag awards scholarships or other educational grants to, or for the benefit of, the spouses and children of United States military personnel who have lost their lives as a result of hostile or terrorist action, or as a result of a non-hostile battle death as defined by the Department of Defense.

While the debt we owe these heroes can never be repaid, the Folded Flag Foundation honors the legacy of these military fallen heroes by aiding their families with financial support for continued education and financial hardship assistance.

We've have four regions for you to choice from: Central Valley, Fresno, Las Vegas, or Reno. Do you want to target all four, or do you want to make in-roads in a certain region? This is your chance to strategically place yourself, face-to-face, with the designers you want to target.
Marketing - Place your brand and marketing in our newsletters, website, e-blasts, social media banners/posts, and broadcast to ASID members precisely how you (and only you) can solve their problems.
