Celebrate West Park at The 5th Annual Hooley on Kamm's Corners™ Tomorrow!

West Park's annual homecoming celebration, The Hooley on Kamm's Corners™ takes place tomorrow, May 10, from noon to 8 p.m. on Lorain Avenue between Rocky River Drive and West 165th Street. Starting at 5 a.m., that portion of Lorain Avenue will be closed to traffic. "Hooley" is Irish slang for party or celebration, and this one offers fun and activities for all ages.

Invite your friends and family to eat, drink, mingle, and enjoy! Once again, there is no charge to enter the area of The Hooley™, thanks to our generous sponsors, including the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. Special thanks to the City of Cleveland and Councilman Marty Keane for their support. See a complete list of our sponsors below.

Special Contest

For this, our 5th Anniversary celebration, a special Rugby Target Throw, sponsored by Content Marketing Institute, will be held with a single contest prize of $25,000! Five Hooley™ T-shirt wearing contestants will be randomly selected from registrations placed in a hopper. Each will have one try to successfully throw a regulation rugby ball 25 yards through the target opening to win $25,000! Restrictions apply. Registration and full details will be at the red and white information tent at The Hooley™.

Giveaways and Goodies

Fairview Hospital will be giving away bicycle helmets to the first 500 children who stop by their tent near West 168th Street beginning at noon.

Bring a tote bag to collect the freebies and other available goodies from 60 booths.

Fine Art Alley

New this year is the Fine Art Alley under a festival tent, featuring fused-glass art, wood prints, henna art, Irish-themed jewelry, accessories, and more. For example, artist Kevin Drummond, whose family hails from Dublin, Ireland, is a dedicated graphic designer and technical illustrator. He creates unique drawings of family names and intricate patterns such as the one shown above. His work and all the other art may be purchased. Be sure to browse inside the tent! Who know? You may find the prefect gift for Mother's Day!

Live Performances on Two Stages

Entertainment comes from two stages at both ends of the street. The main stage at Rocky River Drive features a mix of Celtic and other music styles. The Family Stage at West 165th Street features Irish dancing, musical performances by local schools, the St. Ignatius Circus Company, the Trash Talkers of St. Ed High School, a DJ, and more. Here's the schedule:

Family Fun

In addition to music and entertainment, child-friendly fun attractions near West 165th Street include bounce houses, pony rides, and a big inflatable fire truck slide!

Straight from the Cleveland Browns Dawg Pound, Chomps is being brought to us by the Browns Backers. In addition, the Youth Center features minute-to-win-it games with assistance from the West Park Family YMCA. Pop-a-Shot Basketball, popular with tweens, will be operated by the  Our Lady of Angels PTU.
