The International Law Section Gazette
Section News
Remembering Lucius Smejda
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Lucius Smejda, Esq., former ILS Chair, peacefully passed away on April 11, 2018.

Lucius was an incredible International Lawyer sincerely involved with the International Law Section. He was the co-chair of the NAFTA Committee, Chair of the ILS 2004-2005, and also Treasurer and CLE Chair in 2002.

He organized several successful seminars around the world, helping the ILS connect with fellow bar organizations and establishing long lasting partnerships. Notably, only a few weeks ago, Lucius successfully  organized the Florida-Quebec forum, the last of a series of events that, thanks to his vision, helped establish a bridge between the Florida Bar and the Quebec Bar.

Lucius' legacy and contribution to the ILS' mission will not be forgotten.
