Musicians of First Parish

Tonight's concert will feature the musicians of First Parish. This will be a fun concert showing our community what amazing musicians we have at First Parish. This concert will honor Louise Berlin with part of the proceeds benefiting the Maine ALS Organization.

Explore your spiritual path through movement. For those interested, this group will participate in Sunday services with Christina. No prior movement experience necessary! Led by Kali Bird Isis, who is a second-year student at ChIMe, and is serving as Christina’s intern this year. We hope you'll find a spiritual home full of love, tolerance, and justice at First Parish. Parents are welcome to bring your baby or toddler upstairs to the Nursery for childcare on Sunday. School-aged children are welcome to join the Religious Exploration program for the day.

Program Council Meeting

The ​Program Council has its next meeting this Sunday, April 8th, after coffee hour.​    Committee Chairs or representatives are asked to attend.   Our efforts will be focused on mini-workshops addressing: "Ice breakers" -Welcoming visitors and new members; Meeting and Agenda management; and Website Waltz - navigating our new First Parish Website.

The Practice and the Promise

What would it be like if our UU worship service centered entirely around the voices and the experiences of Unitarian Universalists of color? What truths might we hear, however difficult? What might we learn? How might these UU leaders teach us to be better allies and better citizens in our community? Join us on April 15 th in our commitment to dismantling white supremacy and de-centering our whiteness as we lift up UU voices of color.

We're looking for Storytellers! Kali Bird Isis (see above) will be offering a monthly Moth-style event beginning in January. The Saturday prior to each event, from 10:30am-12:30pm, we are offering a Teller's workshop to shape stories and get comfortable with them. Up to 7 tellers per month. Journeying and Healing through Sound
Fourth Monday of Every Month: April 23rd
Join Reverend Christina for a monthly exploration of using sound as a tool to shift your perspective, relax your body and mind, and receive knowledge and wisdom. We will use singing bowls, drumming, toning, and recorded sound to enter altered states of consciousness for the purpose of peace, clarity and healing.

Prayer Shawls were originally developed by women studying feminist spirituality, as a way to combine passion for crafting with passion for service. April Share the Plate Recipient:
The Locker Project

Each month, First Parish shares its abundance by making a $300 contribution to an organization whose work is helping to further our mission of healing the world. Every church member is invited to nominate an organization to receive this gift. The organization selected for Share the Plate this April is The Locker Project. The Locker Project provides food to needy children and families throughout the year through public schools. It currently serves over a dozen schools in southern Maine.
