Arlington, VA (June, 2016) - The Virginia Hospital Center Department of Surgery was dedicated and renamed as
The J. Della Ratta Family Center for Surgery
at a private ceremony on June 2, 2016.
The dedication and naming ceremony honors Joseph Della Ratta, founder and owner of DRI CMC Properties, a Maryland based company specializing in developing and operating commercial properties in the DC Metro Area and South Florida, as well as
his family for their generosity in helping to fund the expansion of Virginia Hospital Center's surgical department.
The J. Della Ratta Family Center for Surgery will help the Hospital continue to recruit and retain renowned surgical specialists, provide infrastructure and capacity, both in terms of facilities, equipment and training to handle the most complex surgical procedures.

BASICS FOR BABIES: Assisting Arlington Pediatric Center Families
|
On May 11th, Rebecca Burton & Ellen Sher hosted
Basics for Babies to help low-income and uninsured families in Arlington struggling to provide necessities for their babies.
These families are served by Arlington Pediatric Center which was established by the Hospital in 2001 to provide medical care to underserved children in our community. T
he event was a huge success, with over 6,000 diapers donated along with a large amount of clothing and other baby supplies.
To all who attended, and Rebecca & Ellen, thank you so much for directly supporting the families in our community!

How It Works
: You make a gift of appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares to Virginia Hospital Center Foundation. This can be done easily through an electronic transfer from your brokerage firm.
Benefits

You receive an immediate income tax deduction for the full market value of the securities
on the date of transfer, no matter what you originally paid for them and
you pay no capital gains tax
when you contribute the securities. Contributing stocks, bonds
