Park Theater project receives $600K state grant

The Park Theater renovation project in downtown Glens Falls will receive $600,000 in state funding.

Developer Elizabeth Miller is renovating the historic building on Park Street, originally used as a theater, for a performing arts space on the main floor and a 70-seat restaurant in the basement.

Miller praised EDC Warren County President Edward Bartholomew for urging her to be persistent after failing in two previous state grant applications.

"He helped walk me through the process and encouraged me to put the third application in," she said. "He's been a huge help to get this accomplished."

Governor Cuomo's Broadband Program Assisting in Extending Broadband to Unserved area within North Creek

EDC President Ed Bartholomew attended a NYS Urban Development Public Hearing in North Creek on Tuesday to support Frontier's Unserved Broadband Project in Warren County.

This broadband project will receive matching state assistance through Governor Cuomo's New NY Connect program which will permit Frontier Communication to extend broadband service to nearly 400 housing within the North Creek hamlet area.

Bartholomew called this initial grant "a positive first step for Warren County."  President Bartholomew applauded Frontier Communication for this initiative and pledged to work closely with this telecommunication firm for additional broadband projects in 2017 within Warren County.

Bartholomew stated that "the partnering of the Governor's Broadband Grant Program, along with Senator Gillibrand and Congresswoman Stefanik's funding legislation through USDA and the Federal communication Broadband Program will provide opportunities for Warren County this coming year."
