FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents,
I hope you have enjoyed your long holiday weekend.  I wanted to give you a glimpse of things happening this week.

First, Tuesday is an early release day for our students.  Our teachers will meet in their professional learning teams to review our Middle States goals and action plans.  This work is in preparation for our December visit.  We have explained the process of the school's evaluation to the students and will continue to update them and you in the coming weeks.

On Wednesday, the 9th graders will take the Readistep test and the 10th and 11th graders will take the PSAT.  Both are important tests.  Remind your students to get a good night's sleep, eat breakfast, and bring several #2 pencils.  Seniors should use this day as a college visit/planning day.

Thanks for your support of our work at CCHS.  Have a great week.

Heather Crisci
Principal
PICTURE OF THE WEEK

On October 4, CCHS students were fortunate to meet Robert Kennedy, Jr. at Sacred Heart Church during his lecture "Our Environmental Destiny," hosted by the Center for Environmental Transformation. The students were among 46 local scholars invited to meet Mr. Kennedy to mark the 46 years since his father, Senator Kennedy was in Camden, challenging all to work to make the world a better place.  CCHS students pictured are: Jonathan Daverso, Kevin Furlong, Frank Pan, Aidan Quinn, & Tian Zhu.

@ Meets Annual Retreat Requirement

Moderator: Mr. [email protected]

The Leadership Academy Scholar Course is the culminating experience in the scholar track and previous students have described the program as "life-changing", "inspiring", "enlightening" and "fulfilling" and incorporates each of the leadership academy values of Faith, Excellence, Creativity, Unity & Passion. Students become experts in themselves through learning a series of positive psychology skills which they apply in a culminating retreat.  Students examine their core beliefs, values and goals and how they affect what they notice in the world and what they miss. They become aware of how they think, and learn to challenge and change counterproductive habits of thinking. They become aware of their personal strengths and weaknesses and learn how to maximize their gifts. They learn to be grateful for what they have been blessed with in their  lives and maximize the opportunities they are provided.  They learn how to strengthen current relationships and how to reestablish past ones and create new ones. The course

consists of 12 workshops, a 3-day overnight retreat and two follow-up sessions.

Through various activities, students will examine story telling skills, etiquette skills, and empathy skills to understand their own brand. This skill set will enable them to network with others through building strong connections and presenting the best of themselves to others.
