THE ARTS AT CCHS:
FALL SHOW AUDITIONS

The Arts at CCHS is holding open auditions for its fall production of Our Town by Thornton Wilder on Sunday, September 20 at 1 pm in the Grandi Auditorium.  Any student interested in the performing arts is encouraged to audition.  Students should prepare a 1-2 minute monologue.  Our Town scripts are available from Mr. Hallahan in the Band Room and monologue books will be available at the audition.  Monologues from the show are encouraged but not required.  Some students may be asked to do cold readings from the script.  Call backs will be by invitation only on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:30 pm.  Rehearsals will begin September 27.  Performances are November 19, 20 and 21 at 7:30 pm and November 22 at 2:30 pm.
FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL:

Dear Parents,
I hope that everyone had a great first week of school.  After three full class days, the students have already begun to settle into their daily routines.

This week is a very busy week at CCHS.  I would like to call your attention to several events:

September 14 - CCHS will participate in the 40 Days of Francis Food Run sponsored by Catholic Charities.   Students will join Bishop Sullivan for a prayer service at Catholic Charities and then travel to a food bank to help unload donated food.  This is great experience for our students as we celebrate Pope Francis's visit to the US.

The Parents' Association will hold their first meeting on  September 14.  Please come out and get involved.  We need many volunteers to make our school events successful.

September 15 - The Guidance Department will host our annual college night. Over 150 colleges will be at CCHS for this important evening,  This is a great time for our students to gather more information from various universities in order to plan for college.

September 16 - Bishop Sullivan will be at CCHS to celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit with the CCHS Community.  We are very lucky to have the opportunity to celebrate Mass with Bishop and thank him of his supportive Catholic schools.

September 17 - Back to School Night---All families are invited to CCHS at  7 pm.  Please meet in the auditorium for a brief presentation, and then parents will be dismissed to homerooms to follow students' schedules through the evening.  This time is designed for each parent to have an introduction to the course, teacher, and his/her expectations.  It is NOT a time for a parent/teacher conference.  If you need to discuss your student with his/her teacher. you must make a separate appointment.

September 18 - Freshman BBQ and Freshman Parent Reception--The students will be treated to a BBQ in the courtyard while the parents have a meet and greet in the dining hall.  Freshman Parents are asked to bring a case of water or drink or a dish to share.  The events will be followed by the home opener of our Fighting Irish Football team as they take on Gloucester Catholic High School.  We hope to see you o the field to support the team!

If you haven't logged into your Edline account, please do so this week.  Students and parents each have separate accounts and both should be activated.  The first Edline posting of grade is  September 21.

We also have one calendar change for this month:  September 25 will be a half day with an  11:50 dismissal.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

Sincerely,

Heather Crisci, Principal
