Knight News
Third Annual BSS Week of Holiday Giving!
Our annual BSS Gives Back week concluded last week and we hope you'll enjoy seeing a glimpse into what our students experienced last week!

Cards were made by our first and second graders for Parishioners at Blessed Sacrament Church unable to attend the Advent and Christmas celebrations. Kindergarten students prepared colorful place mats for delivery throughout the holidays by Meals on Wheels.

Books were collected by our 8th graders for Family Abuse Services.

Donations were brought in by sixth and seventh graders for families who will soon transition from the Allied Shelter. Families will receive a "new home starter kit" filled with items like hand soap, dish soap, dish towels, laundry detergent, trash bags, etc to take into their new home!

Our third grade students baked homemade cookies and delivered the treats downtown to our local fire and police station.

Neighbors along Hillcrest Avenue were gifted gorgeous hand made Christmas Ornaments from our fourth graders. Our way of saying thanks for your patience and we continue to grow!

Little Knights adopted soldiers and prepared holiday cards to spread holiday cheer!

BSS supported the Salvation Army when seventh and eighth graders rang the bell each day during the Week of Giving. Our students rang the bell for 16 shifts outside the Harris Teeter in Burlington.

Middle school Language Arts students will continue projects throughout this week and next.

Fifth graders took a field trip to see the movie "The Star" and are now spreading joy throughout the second floor by working in teams and decorating classroom doors. Learn more about "The Star" HERE.

Fifth grade asks for students to bring in donations for the local animal shelter and to place the donation outside the door that is your favorite (see photos below).

Our school wide Christmas Cheer project wraps up this week with gift delivery taking place closer to Christmas.

Each class participated in a special way and seeing the excitement as our students prepared their gifts from the heart has certainly put all of us in the Christmas spirit! It's a GREAT day to be a Knight!

Thank you to all of the parents and grandparents that volunteered their time! Many local families will have a brighter Christmas thanks to you and our students.

See our Classroom Connections section for pictures!
