Eighth Grade Pay It Forward Project
Each year eighth grade students receive $10 to use to design a "Pay It Forward" project.  Some students work together while others choose an independent project. Daniel Brasington coordinated, collected, and assembled Blessing Bags for the local shelter and to have on hand in the car.  The Blessing Bags are filled with a variety of toiletries and a special note of encouragement.  Great idea, Daniel!

HSA Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week is  May 1st through May 5th ! We'd like to take this week to show our teachers and staff how much we appreciate all they do for our children! We have so many ways you and the students can get involved. These events and activities are all optional for anyone that would like to participate!

Monday and Wednesday snacks will be provided in the teacher's lounge. Click here to sign-up to send something in for our faculty and staff.

On Wednesday, May 3rd, we'd like to give all teachers a full hour for their lunch. We will need parent volunteers to sign up to cover lunch and recess duty. Click here to sign-up to help.

Each day, we have a different theme for the students to bring in something small for their teachers and/or staff. This can be something they make at home or purchase. Please do not feel obligated to participate each day!

Please let Beth Fitzgerald know if you have any questions!   bethfitz1@gmail.com

We are looking forward to our annual "Spring Sing" on Tuesday May 9, 2017 at Saint Marks Church.  Our theme this year is "Sing, and Let Your Voice Be Heard!"  The students have been busy practicing, so please plan to attend and invite the whole family!  Students should arrive by 6:00 p.m. that evening for a mini run-through.  We will also have a full dress rehearsal during school at BSS on Monday, May 8th.  Please see the following requests for attire for your child:
  • Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten & 1st:  wear light/ solid colors - we will add simple musical notes & shapes to their clothes.
  • 2nd grade:  dress in solid colors - dark pants or skirt.  Please send in a black long sleeve shirt to the attention of Beth Fitzgerald no later than Friday, April 28th.  Mrs. Fitzgerald will add the bones for your child's shirt.
  • 3rd grade:  dress in urban "street" style clothes - jeans, leather, bandanas, etc.  They will RAP and sing!
  • 4th grade:  wear some type of multicultural accessory - does NOT have to be an entire outfit, just something representing various countries (hat, vest, etc.)... Please let me know if you don't have anything, I have a number of items they can borrow!
3rd and 4th grade parents especially - Many will be assigned special instrumental parts or solos, so it is imperative that you let me know as soon as possible if your child cannot attend.  Please email me directly at ldavis@ bssknights.org no later than April 24 (first day back from Spring Break).  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.  Thanks in advance for your help!
