A coach is needed!  Contact Tara Hackman if you are willing to coach this team.

Midget Girls: For our third and fourth grade girls
This team is led by Coach Andress so please make sure to list Andress in this section of the registration form.  We are combining third and fourth grade girls since our fifth graders play for our school JV team.  It is important that you mark Midget Girls in the section asking what League your child is in this season.

From the Principal's Desk
Dear BSS Families,

Yesterday as I watched the devastation left behind by the hurricanes I wondered how the families would be able to rebuild their lives.  For many, everything was lost.  Blessed Sacrament School has always been a generous community. Today in your child's Wednesday folder there is a flyer with information on how we will help those affected by the hurricanes.
For the month of September we will be collecting money for those in Texas and Florida. Our school goal is to raise $1000.  Thank you for your generosity.

Coach Egg's Diaper/Push-Up Challenge
In addition to the school-wide donation fund, Coach Eggleston has challenged middle school students in the diaper challenge. For every 100 diapers collected through the month of September, Coach has promised 10 push-ups. The student/family that donates the most diapers overall will receive a free all sports pass, gaining free admission to all home sporting events. See the flyer in today's Knight Chronicle. SO MIDDLE SCHOOL ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?

Reminders from Box Tops Chair, Betsy Sioussat
Box Tops
Keep clipping and dropping those box tops into the Little Pink Mailbox located across from the main office.  Make sure you label your bag or envelope with the child's name and grade!

The final day to submit Box Tops for the fall contest is Friday, October 6th.

Link your VIC Cards
Each school year VIC cards must be "re-linked" in order for Blessed Sacrament School to receive the benefits of your shopping.  Visit  www.harristeeter.com and look for the Together in Education section to link you card.  Every dollar helps our school!

(we ask that each family review and consider a volunteer commitment)

(to be completed by EACH family and returned to the school office)

Classroom Connections
Saving Fred!
With their STREAM buddies first and second graders tried to save Fred the worm from drowning by putting a gummy lifesaver around his body. Students weren't allowed to touch the worm or life preserver with their hands or fingers. They were given paper clips to try to expand the gummy ring enough to slide the gummy worm through the "preserver".

What is that Thinga-ma-jigger?
Over the last several weeks Kindergarten has been reading the Dr. Seuss book, The Thinga-ma-jigger is Coming Today!  Earlier this week they worked with their middle school buddies to build Thinga-ma-jiggers together!

Indoor Recess Fun!
Sometimes indoor recess is just as fun as getting outside!
