From the Principal's Desk
Dear BSS Community,

On Friday, February 23, MS Math Crunchers students will be competing in the North Carolina Student Academy of Sciences Competition in Charlotte. Students, under the direction of Mrs. Sebastian, have been researching, collecting data, experimenting and complying all their information for the presentation. We wish all the students the best of luck on their projects.

Mrs. Gomez

School Security
Mrs. Hackman and I will meet with Officer Lowe, Student Resource Officer of Williams High School, on Thursday, February 22, to discuss our school security.

Shamrock Basketball Tournament
Once again, BSS had a great time at the tournament in Charlotte. Our boys came home with a win, our girls never gave up, and our cheerleaders dazzled us with their routine. The best part was experiencing the camaraderie among parents and students. We truly are a BSS community!
From the Admissions & Advancement Office
2018-2019 Enrollment-Note these important dates!!

The week of Thanksgiving 2017 each family received a letter announcing 2018-2019 tuition and fees along with important due dates. This allowed each family to have over two months to prepare for contracts and enrollment decisions.

Contracts for families not requesting financial aid for the 2018-19 school year are past due!. Returned contracts must now include a $365 enrollment fee instead of the original $265 late fee and subject to space on the class roster.

If you have applied for financial assistance or you are a current recipient of the opportunity scholarship, your contract goes in the mail March 9th. Your contract and $265 enrollment fee is due March 16th.
Help needed in the Admissions & Advancement Office!

Please contact Tara if you are able to assist with any of the following!

  • Deliver Kindergarten Fair post cards to area Pre K classes at a list of Play Schools and Day Cares (Tara to provide the list). Cards need to be delivered by Thursday, February 24th.
  • Hang a color poster at your place of work, gym, neighborhood clubhouse, local coffee shop, etc advertising our upcoming Night for the Knights.
  • Sell Big 3 raffle tickets ($25 each) to your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors. Tickets will be available by THIS Friday morning. We have another year of AMAZING prizes!! Buyer does not have to be present to win!
  • Invite your friends to attend this year's Night for the Knights! Entire auction is ONLINE so we can enjoy basketball, dancing, and great tunes! This event is FUN for everyone!! Share the link listed earlier in the newsletter.
BSS will be at the 2018 Kindergarten Fair next week!
Tuition Assistance is available to families who wish to provide a Blessed Sacrament School education to their children but are unable to afford the full cost of the education. All assistance is offered on the basis of demonstrated need, and all assistance recipients must complete a Grant & Aid Application through FACTS Management Services to be eligible for tuition assistance.

We strongly encourage Pre Kindergarten families to apply for the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship in addition to their FACTS application.

The transition from Pre Kindergarten to Kindergarten is the one time an existing school family may apply and be considered for the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship.

Blessed Sacrament Tuition Assistance Application open and accepting applications for new and returning students.

North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship Application IS OPEN FOR APPLICANTS! APPLY HERE

Middle School visits the Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum
Founded in 1902 by Dr. Charlotte Hawkins Brown, Palmer Memorial Institute transformed the lives of more than 2,000 African American students. Today, the campus provides the setting where visitors can explore this unique environment where boys and girls lived and learned during the greater part of the 20th century. The museum links Dr. Brown and Palmer Memorial Institute to the larger themes of African American history, women's history, social history, and education, emphasizing the contributions African Americans made in North Carolina.
