Winter Sports Sign Up
It's time to sign up for winter sports!  Sign up at the link below to indicate if your BSS athlete will participate in Pep Squad, Cheer, Girls JV Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball, Boys JV Basketball, Boys Varsity Basketball.    The One Form is used to track payment for our winter sports but rosters are created from THIS
 sign up. No additions to the cheer roster after October 20th and not additions to the remaining team rosters after October 27th.  

Students MUST have an up to date physical on file before they can attend the first practice or training session.  A copy of the physical can be found HERE.

Students participating in fall sports will wear their team uniform to school.  This includes cross country, running club (PE shirts), soccer, tennis, volleyball, and our BSS Animals Biddy Soccer teams.  If you play multiple sports you may bring your additional jerseys/shirts.

Student Council Hurricane Relief Fundraiser
Thanks to YOUR support the BSS Student Council sent $1,197 to Catholic Charities for hurricane relief efforts.  

Thank you to our Curb Appeal Committee 
Thank you Curb Appeal Committee, led by Jennifer Klein and Yukie Kajita, and volunteers for your work on our school grounds last Sunday.  Mulch was added to spruce up the trees and bushes recently planted in our side yard.  The new additions to our yard are a result of the Tree Donation Program to honor or memorialize a special person.  This is an ongoing program and more details may be found HERE.

A special thank you to Lisa Waldmann for the design and layout of our new landscaping plan.

Student Council "Fill the Pantry" Food Drive
For every two food pantry items brought to school between October 23rd and October 30th students will receive one raffle ticket for a drawing for a candy and treat filled Halloween Basket!  Thank you for helping us fill our Little Portion Food Pantry for Thanksgiving distribution.  Watch for a list next week of suggested items!

Fall Conferences
Conferences are Tuesday, November 7th from 4:00p.m.-7:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 9th from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. with your child's teacher(s).  A parent must attend the conference in order to pick up your child's report card.
Please choose a time on this sign up that works with your schedule.  Preschool-4th grade conferences will be in the classroom and middle school conferences will be held in the second floor library.

Blessed Sacrament School is a Bronze Sponsor for the I Will Survive 5K--SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28TH
We hope BSS students and families will participate in the 2nd annual "I Will Survive 5K" to benefit the Survivorship Fund at Cone Health Cancer Center at ARMC for local cancer survivors in beautiful historic Burlington. This scenic rolling course begins and ends on Davis St taking participants through old charm of Burlington's historic district.

Once again the BSS families show their compassion for those in need. We raise over $1000 for the hurricane relief effort and collected plenty of diapers. Thank you for your generosity. We are looking forward to seeing Coach Eggleston do push-ups and Mrs. Wetter sit-ups next Tuesday, 10/10 at
flag raising.

Message from the Advancement Cabinet
The Advancement Cabinet is excited to announce our 2nd annual BSS Call-A-Thon to support the Annual Fund! Parent volunteers will be calling for your support on Saturday, October 28th. We are so grateful for the positive response we had last year. Strong support of our annual fund keeps tuition low and provides our students with the materials they need to learn. Thank you in advance for your support!

Time for Twos
Blessed Sacrament School's Time for Twos program is designed as a gentle introduction to school. Our program encourages children to work in a group, explore new materials, and make age-appropriate development transitions.  

Our Program Time for Twos meets on Wednesdays for two sessions, one in the Fall (September to December) and one Winter/Spring (January to March). The 45-minute meetings are led by Program Director, Jill Zang Glenn.  

Each child must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent, or caregiver A typical meeting includes an art project, free play, story and music. 

Session 1: September 27th/October 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th/November 1st, 8th, 15th, 29th/December 6th, 13th 

Session 2: January 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st/February 7th, 21st, 28th/March 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th 

How to Apply Children who will be age two by August 31st of the current school year are eligible to enroll. Sessions are then filled on a first come-first served basis. Enrollment in Time for Twos does not guarantee a place in the preschool the following year. 

Time for Twos is currently enrolling for the Fall 2017 session. If you are interested in enrolling your child please contact Tara Hackman at admissions@bssk nights.org or 336.570.0019.

Keep clipping and dropping those box tops into the Little Pink Mailbox located across from the main office.  Make sure you label your bag or envelope with the child's name and grade!

The final day to submit Box Tops for the fall contest is Friday, October 6th.

Last year we earned $773.10 from box top collections!
