PACK 9 RACES PINEWOOD DERBY

Pack 9 ran it's annual Pinewood Derby car race on March 24th. Cars are built by the Scouts, with parental assistance, from a block of pinewood, nails for axles, and 4 plastic wheels. The Scouts enjoyed designing the cars, assembling, and painting their colors. 29 Scouts raced the track. Top 10 finishers received awards, along with Best Design and Best Effort. After the Awards Ceremony, the Pack celebrated with a pizza party.

HOLLY HILL MALL
10AM - 5PM

BSS looks forward to returning to the 2018 Burlington Maker Faire! Students in preschool through 8th grade are hard at work on classroom and group projects.

One of the things that always makes our school display stand out is the representation from our students on site to discuss their projects. We hope that students from each grade will attend this year and share the news about their STREAM process and final Maker Faire projects.

Prayer Requests
Please remember in your prayers, Sam Sebastian, son of Mrs. Sebastian. He was deployed to the Middle East last week.

Father Paul has requested prayers for their friars in Rio, Brazil. The friary is in a neighborhood where police and drug traffickers are in constant battle. Please also pray for their neighbors and all those who are caught in the crossfire.

From the Principal's Desk
Dear BSS Community,

Welcome back from Easter break! I hope everyone enjoyed time with family and friends. As you know I attended the National Catholic Educators Convention and the presentation about our STREAM program was well received by educators from across the country. It is always a great when speaking about our awesome programs at BSS.

Important Track Changes and information, Please read thoroughly

Sunday April 15, Blue vs. Gold Track Meet at Williams High School, 3:00 p.m.
(instead of minimeet at Bishop)
Sunday April 22, Last Sunday Practice before the Bishop Meet
Sunday April 29, PECSAA Meet, Bishop McGuinness High School, 1:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 6, PECSAA Meet RAIN DATE, Bishop McGuinness High School

Blue vs. Gold Meet will include all track team members and will be run like a regular track meet. We need to know ASAP if your child cannot attend as we will be creating the teams and we want them to be as equal as possible.

The PECSAA Meet is around the corner! We are hoping that you have saved this date as we will need most of our runners to be available. Please let me know ASAP if your child CANNOT attend. Please also be aware that we can only enter one boy and one girl for each event (except relays).

Our goal is to maximize points by using the fastest runners first so there may be a few children in lower grades, that will be assigned as a back up runner. There are also several grades with too few children so we will ask those who don't have a race in their grade to run up a grade level to help us gain points.

All of the competing teams will be doing the same. Any event that we do not have a runner in, costs us points! We will give out race assignments for this meet the week after our Blue v/s Gold meet. We are in the process of assigning relay teams, so AGAIN, please notify Coach Klein ASAP if your child cannot attend, so we can assign events accordingly.

These track meets are full of excitement and fun! We hope everyone can make them both!

We are so excited about the Blue vs Gold track meet but we need lots of volunteers to make it a success! SIGN UP to help so we know everything is in place for a great event. Bring your chairs, coolers, and sunscreen. Stay around for a pizza party!
