Blessed Sacrament School Inducts Inaugural Class into National Junior Honor Society
Yesterday Blessed Sacrament School inducted four bright, energetic, and respectful leaders into the first class of our National Junior Honor Society Chapter.
The four students demonstrate excellence in the areas of Character, Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Citizenship.

During our school wide ceremony our student body looked on as our inductees pledged their commitment to our chapter, received their NJHS pins and cards, and were the first students to sign our NJHS regis try.

Congratulations Daniel, Srikar, Daniella, and Samantha! We look forward to this inaugural year as you set the tone for our chapter and our future inductees. Thank you for being role models for our younger students!

Save the Bees, Please!
Disappearing honey bees have buzzed their way to the top of our environmental concerns over the last few years. Scientists have observed a significant decline in our honey bee population since the early 1990's. Understanding why they are important and how we can help them increase their population size will ultimately change the world. Daisy Troop 40554 of Burlington traveled to the North Carolina School of Science and Math to do just that. In partnership with the NCSSM Bee Keeping Club, Daisy Troop 40554 learned about the anatomy of a honey bee, the essential parts of a hive, how bees are important for plant life and pollination and why they are so important for our food supply. They were able to observe an active hive at the school and try on official bee keeper hats. As part of the Daisy Flower Garden Journey, Daisy Troop 40554 completed their Golden Honey Bee Award in which they made pollinator bookmarks which will be donated to the county's libraries as well as each Daisy's classroom. Daisy Troop 40554 is part of the Girl Scout Service Unit 157 of Alamance County.
