Meet this alum and executive manager for the CUNY Industrial & Applied Research Division! Ariella Trotsenko creates and executes new entrepreneurship programs for the NYC Innovation Hotspot and New York Region Innovation Corps (I-Corps) Hub, for which CUNY is the principal lead institution. She is also the lead instructor for the Gotham Innovation Gambit Training Program, where she guides research teams and soon-to-be high-tech startup companies. |
What has your CUNY experience been? “CUNY has been my home for many years! I went to the Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences at Kingsborough Community College and then studied at Baruch as a Macaulay Honors scholar where I was able to participate abroad in Barcelona in a startup training program. This sparked my interest in entrepreneurship, which led me to become part of the CUNY Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship.”
What does your day-to-day job look like? “Most of my day is spent on outreach with entrepreneurs and economic development leaders. This outreach includes hosting informational sessions, facilitating mentor meetings and understanding the current opportunities to best create new resources.”
What do you do for fun? “I use ClassPass to attend group fitness classes across all of NYC.”
