2017 is HERE!
A full, new year is among us, how are you choosing to make the most of what's to come? At Burn Athletic we want to challenge YOU this year to STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE! We want to challenge and encourage YOU to try something you've never done before, to have the courage to step out and take a risk!

Instructor Spotlight:
Mike Havazelet
Mike graduated with a Masters of Physical Therapy from UNC in 2008 and shortly after began personal training, coaching and teaching group classes. He is an ACE certified group fitness trainer working with all types of people and fitness levels. Mike believes exercise and fitness improves lifestyle from a physical, mental and emotional standpoint and is dedicated to creating classes that provide great physical challenges b ut still feel like fun. Growing up, he was heavily involved in team sports but more recently has been focused on long distance running and obstacle course races. It is on his 2017 bucket list to run a sub 4 hour full marathon. Outside of these things, Mike also enjoys biking and traveling abroad.

"My favorite thing about Burn is that it doesn't feel like a typical gym or studio. There is a strong community that makes it feel like you are working out with friends rather than nameless faces. This translates into people working harder and not wanting to miss a workout."

Member Spotlight:
Daniel Brearley & Jamie Diliberto 
Danny and Jamie grew up in small upstate New York towns (Binghamton for Danny and Utica for Jamie).  Both grew up very active in sports.  During the warm summer nights either of them could be found on a baseball/softball or soccer field, while during the cold winters they could be found in the gym playing basketball and volleyball.  The two met at Le Moyne College, a small school in Syracuse, NY and after completing their degrees, moved down to North Carolina to pursue careers in technology. Danny and Jamie enjoy visiting with family; especially their nieces and nephew, golfing, going to sporting events, concerts, and enjoying beverages with friends.   

"We have been coming to Burn for almost 3 years now and have loved every second of it.  Prior to Burn neither of us had ever been to instructor led classes and couldn't be happier we found such a wonderful place to start.  We enjoy that there is such a large variety of classes and that each instructor has his/her own style allowing each workout we take to feel fresh and new.  We also love how amazing and motivational all of the instructors are.  It is definitely because of the wonderful people at Burn that we always look forward to coming back for great workout after great workout.  Some of our favorite classes at Burn are Burn Bootcamp, TRX Bootcamp, Cycle Revolution, and Burn Barre.  We look forward to what 2017 will bring."
