Message from the Director
Dear Friend,

It has been an exciting year at BINA filled with new projects and initiatives. Educational events and safety campaigns were offered to the community at large. Support groups and classes ran throughout the year for brain injury survivors and caregivers.

We look forward to a new year with even more opportunities for our families.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact us at 718-645-6400 or info@binausa.org.

Best wishes for a happy and sweet New Year.

"Wear a Helmet" Safety Campaign is Huge Success
Partial view of the large crowd waiting to redeem coupon for free ice cream
Hundreds of overjoyed children of all ages flocked to the Sunday Safety Extravaganza on September 6th to receive a free ice cream at Klein's Ice Cream House in Boro Park.

Sponsored by Senator Simcha Felder and BINA, the event was the exciting culmination of a helmet safety campaign during which youngsters rode to participating neighborhood toy stores on their bikes wearing helmets, and received a coupon which was redeemed for ice cream on Sunday.

Entire families came to enjoy the extravaganza, which included an FDNY display with handouts of safety booklets and fire hats for the children, face painting and balloon sculpting. Participants were thrilled with the opportunity to tour the fire truck, Hatzoloh ambulance and Shomrim and Misaskim command centers parked on site. Helmet Safety activity books were distributed as well.

Senator Felder personally collected the coupons and distributed the ice cream, along with a Certificate of Recognition, to the "Safe Riders." He was joined by Councilman David Greenfield, who addressed the crowd along with Senator Felder, thanking BINA for their unique work helping brain injury survivors and stressing the critical importance of promoting safety in the community.
