Children's Christmas Program

The annual Children's Christmas Program was held on December 17th. The children acted out the Jesus' birth.

Handbell Ministry
by Judy Kirchoff

I would like to thank everyone who participated in the anthem on Dec. 10.  "How Quietly", sung by the adult choir, is a beautiful song about the birth of the baby Jesus and "Away In A Manger", which was within the music selection, was sung by the children's choir.

Judi Burson directed the vocal choir and played the piano.  Hannah Bliss assisted the children and Judy Kirchoff directed the handbell choir and overall group.  This performance will be shown by video during the offertory at the 2:00 and 4:00 Christmas Eve services.  Everyone who participated will be named in the January newsletter.

The Hallelujah Bell Choir visited the Care Center on Dec. 11 and played both religious and holiday music.

The Chapel Chimers had their last performance on Dec. 17.  While playing their 2nd song, "O Come Little Children", six adult bell ringers joined them by playing the smaller and larger bells.  Great work everyone.

This fall the Chimers are:  Svea Johnson, Garrett Kinzer, Lydia Nelson, Ember Popkes, Ava Johnson, Isabelle Thompson, Reece Morrisette and Corbin Kinzer.
T he Chimers will have a "bell party" on Dec. 20 and then have a winter break until April 4.

Merry Christmas from the bell choirs,

Judy Kirchoff, Director
Blue Christmas Prayer Vigil

The Blue Christmas vigil was held on Saturday, December 16th. This vigil provides a time for some "one on one" personal reflection with God. It is for those who have experienced a loss in the past years.

Children's Ministry

Children's Ministry News
by Katie Kovatovich, Children's Ministry Coordinator

Thanks to the volunteers, costume helpers, musical talents and parents who helped make the Christmas program a reality. The support from the congregation and staff that has been given is a statement itself. It is very much appreciated to see our children take part in a story about the first Christmas during this hectic family holiday season with the encouragement there to help guide and give confidence to their efforts. And a BIG thank you to these special LITTLE ones for taking on the BIG roles in this never-forgotten story!
With your LITTLE blessings around your table this holiday season, and thoughts about the new year -
new beginnings... We invite you to join in our
children's program. We are looking forward to sharing ways you can build your faith at home. As many of us know parenting is a big job with many joys, and in the shuffle between school, sports and work, it's often put aside the time to press pause and say praise. We are all on a faith journey on our own paths, but we all have the same destination - and we here at Immanuel - are excited to help with those first steps of introduction.
ENJOY THE HOLIDAY BREAK - Sunday school will resume January 7th!

Each year Immanual  delivers "care kits" to the elementary school in Crosby.  The recipient of each kit is determined by the social department at CRES.

All kits contain the same items.   Each kit contains:  Tooth paste, two tooth brushes, lip balm, brush/comb, socks, two bars of soap, dental floss picks, shampoo and conditioner, hat, one pair of gloves, one pair of mittens, deodorant, a small toy, and a $5 Dairy Queen card.

This year CRES received sixty care kits from Immanuel.
