2016 Hispanic American Ministries Convocation
March 4-5, Dalton GA. Most Hispanics come from a Roman Catholic background and the majority of Hispanic churches in the USA are Pentecostal or Baptist. The growth and health of your church will increase dramatically when your congregation and leaders understand and embrace the Presbyterian form of leadership. Could you use a little help? The theme of our Convocation is Church Leadership and our goal is to inspire, inform, and equip ordained and non-ordained leaders. Our speakers bring unique perspectives for Hispanic ministry in the PCA. Click here for details. Or click here to go straight to registration.
Christianity Explored Conference
Evangelism for Our Time and Place  is the theme of Christianity Explored's 2016 North American Conference that is being hosted by Christ Church Presbyterian (PCA) in Atlanta April 15-17. On Saturday, April 16, Rico Tice will train pastors and church leaders about changes in our culture and what that means for evangelism in our time and place. Participants will also learn more about how they can use Christianity Explored to equip ordinary Christians to move beyond silence to become effective evangelists who impact culture by loving the Gospel enough to both live it out and tell it to others. The cost is only $20, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks. You can see the full schedule here. Contact Alan Avera for more information ([email protected] or 864-630-9110), or to register, click here

Ministry News & Announcements
Parakaleo Is 2016 Love Gift Recipient
Parakaleo is honored to be the Love Gift recipient for 2016! Sponsored by the PCA's Women's Ministry, the annual Love Gift promotes denominational connectionalism by highlighting one ministry and encouraging churches to support it financially.

"We are excited to have this opportunity to share how Parakeleo changes lives by coming alongside women in ministry," says Parakaleo's founder Shari Thomas. "The Love Gift will enable us to expand our training opportunities and respond to the many requests we receive for training, coaching, and network groups for church planting spouses."

A short video profiling Parakaelo's ministry features interviews with ministry founders and church planting spouses from several cities. In addition, two shorter video profiles of church planting spouses can be viewed at http://www.parakaleo.us/love-gift/. The video will be shown at General Assembly and at each of the seven regional Women's Ministry Transformed conferences. Parakaleo will offer a "Taste of Parakaleo" workshop at each of the conferences as well.

"We'd love to have every church show the video at a worship service, women's event, or other gathering," says Thomas.  Contact Maria Garriott, [email protected], if you would a like a Parakaleo representative to speak at your church. The DVD and bulletin inserts can be ordered from the PCA bookstore.

Since 1974, the Love Gift has raised vital funds for RUF, Special Needs Ministries, and others. Funds raised in this year's Love Gift will be used to equip new Parakaleo trainers, coaches, and network leaders who will then train others.

Ministry Expansion
This phrase describes what being a chaplain, or supporting a chaplain, is all about! The role of military and civilian chaplains continues to impact groups of people the local church would not normally touch. Military Reserve Chaplains, for example, interact with local community folk who might never enter the doors of a "normal" church. For many, the chaplain is the only clergyman they've ever met. For more information, and how you can be involved, check out the Chaplain Ministries website at www.prcc.co.

50 Days of Prayer Devotional
Each year the Committee on Discipleship Ministries (CDM) and Mission to North America (MNA) call our denomination to 50 Days of Prayer for our General Assembly. Mike Ross, pastor of Christ Covenant Church in Matthews NC, is preparing a devotional titled  Songs of the Redeemed.  The Evangelical Church has always been a singing church, and some would say that Evangelicalism is at its best when it is singing the great hymns of the faith. In times or spiritual awakening a wave of new hymns - the Songs of the Redeemed - have always swept over the church, and swept many into the Kingdom of God. In this 50 Days of Prayer the stories behind the songs of such hymn-writers as Bernard of Clairvaux, Martin Luther, Isaac Watts, Fanny Crosby, Scott Wesley Brown, Keith Getty and Stuart Townend, Hillsong and others will be examined and prayed through. Their impact upon the Church through the ages will encourage us to draw upon their message and music, once again, to renew and refresh our souls. The devotional will include prayer requests from the ten PCA Agencies and Committees. For ordering information, contact the PCA Bookstore at 1-800-283-1357 or [email protected].

MNA Church Planter Assessment
Thank you for the overwhelming encouragement I received...I really appreciated how much the assessors sought to truly get to know us and listened with genuine interest and concern for us personally... I gained a greater understanding and desire for church planting and seeing how we as a couple work together in relation to church planting... I would alter nothing...This week meant so much.  I'm feeling so sad to leave these wonderful people...Very encouraging, very well done and I can't thank MNA enough for the thoughtfulness put into this week.

Considering Church Planting?   The cost of assessment is relatively small considering the investment that individuals, churches and presbyteries make in starting a new church, and a wise investment of God's resources to help couples faithfully and carefully discern God's will for their lives. The next MNA Assessment Center, July 12-15, is open for applications.   Click here for more information or email Ann Powers quickly. Next one up: October 25-28, the last for 2016. Plan ahead!
