 At Your Service
Members, AIAOC Needs Your Help!

The AIAOC Bylaws were created in 1952 when the chapter first received its charter. While there have been minor adjustments through the years, the Bylaws are antiquated and do not address today’s technology, professional interests, nor consistent with the Institute’s Bylaws – a requirement for an AIA charter. The Secretary Advisory Committee took on the task this year to thoroughly review and modify the Bylaws to be relevant to today’s governance. This included reviews by National AIA and the AIAOC Board of Directors.

AIA Releases Newly Revised Architect Scope Documents
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is releasing the second part of the once-in-a-decade 2017 edition of the A201, design-bid-build family of documents for a total of 34 newly revised 2017 documents. This release includes updated versions of the Architect Scope documents and many of the frequently-used AIA forms. Working with architects, contractors, subcontractors and owners, the AIA Documents Committee updates this core set of documents every 10 years. This helps ensure that the AIA legal forms and agreements reflect changes and trends in the industry, and that the AIA Contract Documents remain the Industry Standard.

Advocacy
What’s your order for the 2018 AIAOC Community Leaders Breakfast Series?

Whether you’re seeking to develop relationships or want to influence policy that affects the built
environment, the “AIAOC Community Leaders Breakfast with...” series is the members voice to
local advocacy.

Who would you like to meet in a round table setting in 2018?

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action).
Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
