DPM Mehmet Simsek speaks at THO-TOBB-U.S. Chamber of Commerce event
 
On April 19, THO partnered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce/U.S.-Turkey Business Council and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) to host Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Simsek for an invitation-only roundtable discussion with top business and think tank leaders.
THO organizes panel on implications of Washington’s Syria policy for U.S.-Turkey ties
On April 23, THO hosted a panel on “ Washington’s Shifting Syria Policy: Implications for U.S.-Turkey Relations .” The event was moderated by Dr. Sahar Khan (Research Fellow, CATO Institute) and featured the following speakers:

  • Mariam Jalabi – Representative of the Syrian National Coalition's office at the United Nations

  • Mike Pregent – Fellow, Hudson Institute; former intelligence officer, including CENTCOM for over 28 years; Fox News commentator

  • Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Peter B. Zwack – Former U.S. Senior Defense Official and Attache to the Russian Federation from 2012-2014; Senior Research Fellow, Center for Strategic Research at the Institute for National Strategic Studies

  • Dr. Mesut Hakki Casin – Academic, Ozyegin University, Air Force, and Turkish Military Academies; former Turkish Air Force officer

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: THO NONRESIDENT FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
THO is pleased to announce the call for applications for its 2018-19 Nonresident Fellowship Program .

Starting in September 2018, successful applicants will have the opportunity to contribute to constructive dialogue surrounding U.S.-Turkey relations and Turkey’s role in the international community. We encourage graduate students, young researchers and professionals, and practitioners with a special interest in U.S.-Turkey relations to apply. Specific areas of interest include (but are not limited to): security, education, humanitarian aid and refugee issues, energy, economy, technology, citizen diplomacy, and international exchange.
