We are now accepting applications for our Summer 2018 Research Program in Turkey !

The THO Summer Research Program in Turkey is an annual, all-expenses-paid, month-long research trip in Turkey, during which selected young researchers will participate in meetings, excursions, and fieldwork on a chosen subject.
 
This year’s theme is “ Refugees and Asylum-Seekers in Turkey: Challenges, Opportunities, and Approaches .”

ELIGIBILITY
The program is open to current undergraduate/graduate students or recent graduates between the ages of 21 and 30. You must also be an American citizen to apply.

FEB. 28: ART EXHIBIT AND RECEPTION
Join Turkish Heritage Organization and the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) for an art exhibition and reception on February 28 recognizing “ African American-Turkish Connections Through the Arts .”
 
This is event is being organized as part of African American History Month.

THO Advisory Board member Dr. Matthew Kroenig publishes book on nuclear strategy
THO Advisory Board member and Georgetown University Associate Professor Dr. Matthew Kroenig has published a new book, The Logic of American Nuclear Strategy . The book “advances a new theory of nuclear deterrence: the superiority-brinkmanship synthesis theory” and “provides a novel theoretical explanation for why nuclear (or strategic) superiority matters.”

Dr. Kroenig will be discussing his book at three upcoming D.C. events:



THO’s Congressional outreach continues
THO is continuing its outreach to Congressional offices. Recently, THO President Ali Cinar met with Foreign Affairs Committee Member Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), Turkish Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX), and Washington Governor Jay Inslee.
THO to host roundtable with Prof. Dr. Gulnur Aybet in New York City
On March 14, THO will host a private roundtable discussion for think tank leaders featuring remarks by Prof. Dr. Gulnur Aybet, a foreign policy advisor to the Turkish president.
