THE LATEST FROM THO
THO President Ali Cinar meets with Free Syrian Army delegation

Hosted by the Syrian American Council (SAC), the FSA delegation shared their concerns about recent developments in Syria and increasing tension in the region. The delegation also emphasized the constructive role Turkey has been playing in Syria and criticized the western media-driven public misconception of the YPG being an anti-Assad militia group that represents the Syrian Kurds.
THO advisory member Dr. Edward Erickson weighs in on U.S. support of the YPG in Syria
In a Jan. 20 interview with Anadolu Agency, THO Advisory Board member Dr. Edward Erickson said that the U.S. “made a terrible mistake” in supporting the YPG in Syria.

“We then sent weapons to Kurds. We promised Turkey – our president, our secretary of state, defense, Trump, Tillerson and Mattis – that we will get the weapons back. I don't think Turkey believes that, personally I don't believe that. I don't think Syrian Kurds will return weapons. This is going to lead to big problems between Turkey and the U.S.”
