The Light at the End of Tunnel

It has been a challenging week. With Harvey in Texas, Irma in Florida, an ongoing massacre in Myanmar, and tensions with North Korea, sometimes one might wonder if there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

There are thousands of thousands of children who feel the same way. Poverty and hardship are the connective issues of their life and although they want to go to school and change their lives through education, lack of financial resources prevent them.

The Child Foundation's goal is to locate these children and assist them to follow their dreams through education. We believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and with your help, we can make the change.

Join us in sponsoring a child to have a better life. Help a student with a backpack, or with only one dollar a day, sponsor an intelligent child who is in need of an educational scholarship to change his or her life for the better.

Please visit our waiting list here to choose any student to help. Let's keep that light on and bright.

Backpacks of Hope

Fall is almost here. With the new school season nearly upon us, we need not remind our friends and supporters of the great sense of responsibility we all share when we hear about less fortunate school kids across the globe who spend their summer days working hard so that they can earn enough money to pay for their school clothes, textbooks and supplies.

This year, Child Foundation is once again having a Scholastic Fund Drive to help young and needy school children with special educational backpacks called "Backpack of Hope" that containing books, notebooks, school supplies, and in some areas clothes. Our goal is to finish this drive with your help and support at the earliest possible time so that these packages can be delivered in time for the start of the new school year.

Last year, we were able to distribute around 2,000 Backpacks of Hope and hopefully with your help we help more children this year.

This year, each "Backpack of Hope" is estimated to cost $75 for each person. We are inviting all you kind-hearted sponsors that are willing to participate in this program to send their donations for providing one or more (or even a proportion) of a School Bag to our office address or by clicking here. For those who donate at least 10 Backpacks of Hope, we will send pictures and information of children who have benefited from their generosity.

Either way, you will have the collective thanks and enormous gratitude of thousands of very grateful school children who will now experience a happy start to their school year.

Child Foundation in Africa

The Child Foundation has started working in Uganda, Africa by helping a group of Batwa indigenous peoples.

The Batwas are the indigenous people who lived in the present national parks of Bwindi and Mgahinga where the largest numbers of gorillas stay in the whole world. They were evicted forcefully by the government which rendered them homeless, landless, poor and vulnerable. As a result, most of the Batwas are impoverished and in need of help. Many resorted to begging or took up work as laborers on other people's land to survive.

The Child Foundation with the help of a trusted local charity is helping Batwa children to have access to education, literacy, improved healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods. If you wish to participate in this worthy cause, please donate to our Refugee Fund here.

Child Foundation in Cleveland

A group of our Child Foundation's volunteers in Cleveland, OH arranged a concert with Mr. Hamid Talebzadeh to support the Child Foundation and the children that it helps. It was a sold out show in beautiful Tinkham Veale University Center hall. Other than Hamid's concert, there were a few presentations by children reading letters of some of the children supported by Child Foundation and a presentation from Masoud Modarres, our director of outreach and development.

Many thanks to Reza, MM, and Mr. Talebzadeh for this opportunity for Clevelanders to know more about the Child Foundation.

If you would like to volunteer to help Child Foundation, please complete our volunteer application here.

Hi, I'm Zahra!
I am a very talented student with GPA of 18.93 in 9th grade in the city of Jiroft.

My father who was the only breadwinner of the family as a farmer but now is suffering from leukemia and is not able to work. We cannot afford our daily expenses let alone his medical expenses.

My mother sometimes works on farms as a daily worker to earn income but is hardly enough. I need your support to continue my education.

Save My Only Eye
Shekoofeh is one of the Child Foundation's students who receives our scholarship for her good grades and hard work. She suffers from Retinitis Pigmentosa (PR), a rare genetic disorder that involve a breakdown and loss of cells in the retina-which is the light-sensitive tissue that lines the back of the eye. Shekoofeh had already lost one eye and is fighting for the other one. So far with the help of Child Foundation, she has had a couple of surgeries, but she still needs a few more. They are expensive, and we need your support to help her.

Shekoofeh is from a village called " Shab-Koori" close to Izeh in Khuzestan province, where most of its residents suffer from Retinitis Pigmentosa. After Shekoofeh lost her father, she moved with her mother and two sisters to Shahr-e-Kord. Her mother works hard but cannot afford Shekoofeh's upcoming surgery.

To donate to Shekoofeh medical fund, please give generously here.
