The BackStage ensemble invites you back to the days when families gathered around the radio in the evening hours.  This popular free off-night event celebrates the spoken word in a collection of plays and shorts produced "for the ear."  The Listening Series will sharpen the imagination and challenge the senses as you sit, sip. . . and hear.

Our Spring Listening Series is just around the corner!

The Wreck on the Five-Twenty-Five

by Thornton Wilder

directed by Jen Poulin, Associate Artistic Director

featuring

Matthew Reeder, Artistic Director

Jana Liles

and Michael Pacas

Thornton Wilder's cozy and nostalgic suburban setting becomes the source of existential crisis for a man challenged to reexamine his life. Rhythmic dialogue provides a reassuring image of hearth and home, but simple questions reveal the uneasy counterpart and apocalyptic anxieties lurking beneath everyday events. This season, BackStage explores proximity and the distance between family members that may exist, no matter how physically near they are. Faraway... so close.
