Market Updates
We are inching toward spring across Oregon, and that means signs of change in the season are making their way to market as well.

It's never to early to start thinking about your own garden. Gales Meadow Farm has tender chard, spring onion, and kale starts for those rearing to go, and versatile fava beans seeds great for garden prep and an early spring crop for eating. For the lovers of fruit, now is time to get new young fruit trees in the ground,  and with a stop by Sun Gold Farm you may find the perfect peach or apple tree for that sunny spot in the yard.

For already edible spring offerings, think spring lamb from Deck Family Farm, chicken and duck eggs a plenty and tender young greens bursting with nutrients. While winter continues to hammer our year-round farming friends, they keep showing up with something new and seasonal for us all to enjoy.

Our Double Up Food Bucks program for EBT shoppers also continues throughout the winter. That means those with Oregon Trail cards receive an additional $10-match to spend on fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts.

See you Saturday at the market!

Find Your Farmer at the CSA Share Fair
March 11th from 9am-2pm at the HFM grounds
What is a CSA you say? Community Supported Agriculture is a direct relationship between a customer and farmer each making a commitment to the other. The customer invests in a share of the farm for the season, and the farmer delivers a regularly scheduled share of their bounty as agreed up at the beginning of the season.

This year PACSAC (Portland Area CSA Coalition) has teamed up with the Hollywood Farmers Market to host the 3rd Annual Share Fair, where CSA Farmers come together on one day help customers learn about the variety of CSA programs available, and one that will be the best fit for their household, lifestyle and eating needs.

The following farms from the Hollywood and Lloyd Farmers Market family offer CSA options: Deck Family Farm, Naked Acres Farm, Sun Gold Farm, Stoneboat Farm, Winter Green Farm, Flying Coyote Farm and Sauvie Island Organics are all Hollywood and Lloyd Farmers Market vendors that offer CSA options.
