Arbor Day Event This Saturday!
Arbor DayJoin us for a fabulous, FREE Arbor Day event this Saturday, April 5, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., in The Lodge meeting rooms! The event will include a children's craft area, World Bird Sanctuary, music, attendance prizes, tree planting demonstration, tree care seminars, arborists and horticulturists, free tree seedlings (Bald Cypress, Black Cherry, Hackberry, Northern Red Oak, Norway Spruce, Pecan, Redbud), free food, Smokey Bear and much more! Come celebrate 31 years of Des Peres being a Tree City USA! Congratulations to our Arbor Day Poster Contest Winner, Erykah Nicholson!
Put a Spring in Your Step!
HikeJoin us on April 8 for a spring hike that will explore the Phantom Forest and Bittersweet Woods Conservation areas. The hike will focus on family nature journaling and provide a fun and safe time for all ages to enjoy the freedom of the outdoors. Funding for the hikes provided, in part, by the Great Rivers Greenway District. You must register in advance for the hike by calling 314-835-6150 (reference program #17496).
Tennis Lessons Begin Next Week!
Tennis PictureOur tennis program is designed for youth players of all skill levels. Lessons will cover all the basics needed to start enjoying the great lifetime sport of tennis! Two instructors will be on hand to teach the fundamentals of tennis: grip, forehand, backhand, serving, scoring, positioning and court zones. Classes are offered for ages 4-6, 7-10 and 11-15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Des Peres Park starting April 8. Call 314-835-6150 to register!
Learn to Be a Lifeguard!
Lifeguarding Class PictureThere are still a few spots remaining in our upcoming American Red Cross Lifeguard Training classes. Attendance at all training classes is mandatory and no exceptions can be made. The session begins April 12. CLICK HERE for the complete schedule. Call 314-835-6150 to register for course #17318. Youth T-Ball Clinic is a Hit!
T-BallThis fun, instructional program with a 4:1 child to instructor ratio introduces 4-6 year-olds to the world of baseball/softball. Each player will receive a T-shirt and instruction in fielding, throwing and hitting off of a tee. This 6-week clinic is offered at Sugar Creek Park on Wednesday, 5-6 p.m., beginning April 9 OR Saturday, 9-10 a.m., beginning April 12. Call 314-835-6150 to register!
