 Did You Know?
The Matty Fund is the only epilepsy resource center in Rhode Island.  Since its starts in 2003, The Matty Fund has helped hundreds of children living with epilepsy through workshops, family events, medical research, medical lectures, scholarships, camps, and social media. It is all designed to raise awareness and to help children and families living with epilepsy.

Since the start, all of the programs and resources of The Matty Fund have been provided free of charge.  We never want
money to be an obstacle for parents
and caregivers seeking to take advantage of our programs.

To provide free programs takes staff
and resources.  That's why we fundraise.  Revenue from donations, sponsorships, grants and events provide the resources to continue the  programs people have come to rely on.  But it takes more than money. Thanks to generous volunteers, we have the people power to make all our programs happen. We thank you for your past support and hope we can rely on you in the future. Together we can make life better for children living with epilepsy

From The Executive Director...

Camp Matty, Mother's Day Appeal and 5K

This time of year the flowers are budding and The Matty Fund is in full gear.  After completing a wonderful Camp Matty in April, we are again planning for our summer camp, July 7 - 10.  Like always, the camp is free of charge to children living with epilepsy. For details and to sign up, click here.

We are also weeks away from holding Matty's Memorial Day 5K race in downtown Wakefield. This is the first year that the race will be held in Wakefield.  For 12 years it has been held on the campus of URI. You can register to race at If you'd like to volunteer at the race, contact Kasey Johnson at

This time of year brings us back to reflect on why The Matty Fund was started. It was on Mother's Day 2003 that five year old Matthe Siravo passed away.  Our Mother's Day appeal helps to pay for all of the free programs we offer to children and families living with epilepsy. For those of you who have already made a donation, thank you.  For those who want to make a difference in the life of a child living with epilepsy, it's not too late.  Click here to make a tax deductible donation to The Matty Fund.

Best regards,

George Donnelly

Executive Director

Save The Date For Matty's Golf Tournament
