Wishing everyone a wonderful
Father's Day this weekend!
Who's On First?

This past Sunday we continued our congregational summer preaching series, hearing from Resident Christian Educator Joel Screnock. I'll let you in on a small secret: this was Joel's first sermon and I believe he hit it out of the park!

Renee and Joel have done a great job starting us out and I'm now even more excited to hear what our fellow members of the congregation will have to share with us in coming weeks.

A little more of what is to come:

June 18 - Richard Dodge - 1 Kings 3:1-15 & Romans 12:1-8 - "Now What?"
June 25 - Connie Olson - 1 Samuel 17:17-50 - "Facing Your Goliath"
July 2 - Greg Braatz - First in a series on the 10 Commandments - "The Law - Who Cares?"
July 9 - Greg Braatz - Second in a series on the 10 Commandments- "You Shall Have No Other Gods"

I believe we can look forward to some very unique worshiping experiences this summer!  ~ Greg Braatz,  Commissioned Ruling Elder

Mission in Action
Warming Shelter Dates Available

Thank you to all who helped out at the Warming Shelter on June 8th and 9th. Everyone at the shelter seemed to enjoy the food that we prepared and served. The Warming Shelter depends on the assistance of churches and community organizations to provide the evening meals and to serve as hospitality hosts. Without this assistance they would not be able to exist. They are currently housing approximately 60 homeless individuals a night.

There is more work to be done before we will complete our 2017 commitment to the Warming Shelter. We are also scheduled to work at the Warming Shelter on August 4th, 5th and 6th and December 7th, 8th and 9th. We currently have many open slots. Volunteers are needed to provide food, serve the food, and work as hospitality hosts from 8:00 pm to 12:00 midnight on all of these dates. We also need someone to set out the morning breakfast on August 6th. Please help us complete this important mission project. The signup sheets will be available in the east hallway at church on June 18 and 25.  You can also sign up online by following this link to Warming Shelter Volunteer Opportunities . You can also sign up by contacting Fred Umland at 903-8981 or via email.
