Please Join the Conversation

I believe the conversation we will have as a church family this coming Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in the Life Center, will be one of the most important conversations we have had, or will have, in a while. I want to look with you at some important data from our church’s history. In addition, some initiatives will be recommended to address the realities reflected in the data you will see.

All this was shared in a recent Leadership Retreat involving Ministers, Deacons, Vision Team, and Leadership Council. Now it is time to take the all-important step to expand the conversation church-wide.

Please be there this Sunday, February 19, at 5:00 in the Life Center. Please be present to ask questions and to offer your input. In our regular business meeting at 5:00 on February 26, you will be asked to vote on the initiatives that require church approval. Please be present in both meetings as we consider our past…and our future.

Thank you for allowing me to be…

Your Pastor,
Travis

Staff Anniversary
This month we celebrate and give thanks to God for the ministry we have shared with Jamie Mackey. Jamie joined the staff of FBC in February of 2017.  His love for God and the ministry that God has called him to has touched many lives over the last ten years here in Huntsville. He has given leadership in so many significant areas that have led young people to know Christ in a deeper and more meaningful way. When you see Jamie or Hope in the hallway this week, share your words of encouragement and appreciation with them. Thank you Jamie for the loving way you lead our students. Happy 10th Anniversary with First Baptist Church!
Worship at First Missionary Baptist Church, Blue Spring
Now well into its fourth decade, the extraordinary sister church relationship of FBC Huntsville with First Missionary Baptist, Blue Spring, enjoyed another wonderful joint service this past week, hosted as usual during February by Blue Spring.  Pastor Travis Collins preached with great insight and communicability, and our Sanctuary Choir and FBC Orchestra brought powerful, inspiring music of varying styles. Thank you to these leaders as well as to all in attendance. And, as usual, the post-service reception at the host church featured warm fellowship and great food.

We are hoping to have classes in Bible Journaling, Scrapbooking, Card Making, Painting, Sewing, Chrismons, Photography, Flower Arranging, Woodworking and much, much more. If you are interested in leading a class for us, please contact Holly (256-428-9438) or Debbie (256-428-9405).
Thank  You!
Hello everyone!

I hope and pray that you all are doing well! I wanted to send a quick note to let you all know how deeply grateful we continue to be for the special VBS offering that you all did for us last year. This offering has helped a number of our children under sponsorship attend school, including the new term that just begun this week. Yesterday, one of our school sponsorship students and her mom came to my office to express how deeply grateful they are. Daphne, a Rwandese graduate of our shelter and the mother of our sponsorship student, never had the opportunity to attend school as a child. She always dreamed of her daughter having the opportunity to be able to attend school. You all have assisted in helping her dream come true and also ensuring a better life for her daughter and many other children. Thank you for your support and partnership. We are deeply grateful!

Blessings,
Missy Ward Angalla
