Lessons for FBC from Ralph Langley’s Life

Here I have copied and pasted portions of my address at Dr. Langley’s funeral service. I offer them to you in hopes that you will read them and remember important lessons for our church.

Your pastor,
Travis

Our world needed Ralph Henderson Langley. We all needed Ralph to remind us of how to live life to its fullest.

In Allen Walworth’s words, “Ralph lived and loved and laughed large.” Read more
On behalf of the Ralph Langley family, I’d like to express heartfelt gratitude for all the cards, phone calls, gifts of food, time, practical help, and expressions of love we’ve received over the last two weeks.  Everyone at FBC has been wonderful. We value your support and prayer more than you know.  May God continue to shed His blessings on this church and its outreach.

In Christ,
Leanne Langley

Preschool & Children Ministry Update
The Preschool and Children’s Ministry Renovation Team (PCReno) began work in November 2016 under the direction of Ministry Architects.  After presenting their report to our families in October, Ministry Architects laid out an 18-month Renovation plan that will be facilitated by this Renovation Team.  Our first order of business is addressing specific things - like communication, volunteers and vision.  The team is shoring up communications options for young families within FBC and finding ways to share our Preschool and Children’s ministries with WEE families.  We’re also creating a plan to share good things in these ministries with our entire Church Family.  Volunteer job descriptions are in the works too, and there will be a place for everyone!  If you have any questions about this foundational work going on, please don’t hesitate to contact one of us.  And we ask for your patience and prayers as we seek the best solutions to enhance these vibrant and loving ministries.
