My Experience in Worship Care

On Sunday, May 28, I skipped the 10:30 worship service. Well, not exactly. I actually helped take care of beautiful FBC babies during that service.

I did that for two reasons. First, every time we dedicate a child I join all of you in pledging that I will care for that child. I don’t always get an opportunity to do that during the worship service, so I took this opportunity to fulfill my pledge. Second, our church needs more worship care workers. So I pitched in.

It was really fun being in there with Yvette, Ellie, and Abby Hawkins. Worship care workers really do enjoy their work together. Furthermore, those little ones born into our church family are gifts. Miraculous, beautiful, wonderful gifts.

Would you help us care for those gifts? To love on those little ones? Jesus, after all, said “Let the little children come to me,” indicating a soft spot in his heart for little ones.

Contact Joy Moore ( and/or Childhood Ministries ( They will give you the wonderful opportunity to help either during the 8:15 or 10:30 service, or even the upcoming 5:00 p.m. service. Or, when you are invited to serve, please say “Yes.” This is a critical, and wonderful, ministry.

And don’t forget the favorite verse of the childcare ministry, 1 Corinthians 15:51, Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed!

Your grateful pastor,
Recently we received another thank you note from someone who participates in our worship via TV. She began, “I’ve just watched the graduation service and felt compelled to write and thank FBC for broadcasting your Sunday service.” She explained that she watches weekly, sings along, and finds the worship very meaningful. “Thank you for sharing you services on TV,” she concluded, “…you are a blessing to me.” Notes like that are common.

A big “Thanks” to those who work so hard to make our broadcast possible!
