GA Cookie Sale this Wednesday
The girls will be selling bags of cookies for $1.00 or a donation of your choice. The GA’s are working to earn money to assist Pennypacker School in furnishing the library. Pennypacker School is the same school that our Student Ministry worked at this summer on the choir tour/mission trip in Philadelphia. Our goal is $1,300 which could help with library book purchases, shelving or seating needs, computers, etc. Thank you for supporting this ministry of our GA’s!

Future Jordan Mission Participants

If you have are interested in serving in Jordan helping the Refugee School and other areas of ministry, the Kings will be leading a training session for mission trips in March 2018 and October 2018. The meeting will be held in Birmingham on Saturday, September 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This will be a training session for the group going in October of this year and for future mission trips.

Jemison High School Tutors

We are beginning a new effort of providing tutors for Jemison High School. Most of the need is helping students prepare for the ACT tests. They will meet on Saturday mornings and before school and after school. You can choose what is best for you. Also, there is a need for helping students passing online courses for which they need credit.

Missions 3.0 Workshop

Ministry Architects Vision Summit Retreat
September 15-16

All Renovation Teams as well as church members who are involved in Preschool Ministry, Children's Ministry, Student Ministry, and Young Adult Ministry are invited to participate in a "Vision Summit" led by Ministry Architects, Chris, Melissa, and Hank. Everyone is strongly encouraged to attend at least two sessions.

The summit will build clarity and consensus through a fun, positive process. We will come out of the process with four documents pertaining to each ministry:

The Week of Prayer for State Missions is a concentrated time of prayer where churches all over the state are praying together, in Jesus’ name, for a powerful movement of God through various Great Commission Ministries of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions and Alabama Woman’s Missionary Union.

A special offering will be taken during the month of September to support these ministries.

This October we’re going to open our parking lot and our trunks to the families in our community for a fun filled afternoon of “Trunk or Treat!” At Trunk or Treat events, children make their way to the trunks of vehicles that have been turned into games and activities by gracious volunteers. That’s where each of you come in! To help make this year’s event successful, we need the cooperation of everyone. If you have a vehicle, we need you to participate! Go ahead and get October 29 on your calendar and stay tuned in the coming weeks for more information and opportunities to sign up!
