First Baptist Disaster Relief - Florida and Caribbean
First Baptist is investigating and planning our response to Hurricane Irma. As more information unfolds we will publicize our strategy of providing assistance. Our plan at this time is to offer 2-3 weeks of service to Florida, possibly the Jacksonville area, and to one of the US Islands in the Caribbean.

The scope of work will include all aspects of clean up, including wall board removal and replacement, and carpet removal. There may be some food and water distribution and other work in that area as well.

Most likely we will partner with churches and disaster relief organizations both faith-based and others.

We are asking our congregation, for those who would desire, to make monetary donations to support the disaster relief work of our church by designating to “FBC Disaster Relief.”

In the days ahead you will be receiving updates through First News and in our printed media. Please watch for more details that will be coming about how you can help.

Jemison High School Tutors

We are beginning a new effort of providing tutors for Jemison High School. Most of the need is helping students prepare for the ACT tests. They will meet on Saturday mornings and before school and after school. You can choose what is best for you. Also, there is a need for helping students passing online courses for which they need credit.

Contact Linda Horn or Scott Day for more information.

Do you want to provide a trunk?
