Player Spotlight
John Carlson
Washington Capitals

This month's player spotlight is on Washington Capitals defensemen John Carlson.  In his young career, John has represented USA at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, scored the game winning goal in the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championship finals and last season led the Capitals in ice-time (24:30). Carlson has become a pivotal part of the Caps' organization and will continue to be a cornerstone to the franchise's future.

Over the summer, the Washington Capitals have been among the more active teams in the NHL.  The Caps have added new faces to the team, bolstering both sides of the puck for the upcoming season.  John will anchor the back-end as the Caps look to rebound after a lackluster 2013/14 season .
