On the Lighter Side Revisited ~ Similarities Between the Job Search and Dating*
Your editor bumped into a posting that was published approximately five years ago in The NAPS Credential comparing the job search to dating. The Forbes magazine online article included the musings of Roy Cohen, a veteran New York City career counselor and executive coach, who offered the belief that the same strategies---like playing hard to get and using impeccable timing---are ones that are also needed in looking for a new job. NAPS Certification Question ~ Conference Participation as Continuing Education Credit
Question: Can I apply regional, state and local staffing conferences to the continuing education credits that I need to maintain my CPC and CTS certification?
Answer:
Any staffing association sponsored conference or training initiative that is designed to improve and extend your professional knowledge and skills can be applied toward NAPS certification maintenance. Example: A one day program would generally offer seven contact hours. A luncheon or dinner program featuring a presenter or speaker would most likely yield 1 or 1.5 contact hours. Place the sponsor, participation date and total hours on the NAPS Continuing Education log prior to submission.
