Dear Families & Providers,

Welcome to The Navy Respite Care Program Newsletter!
Annual Meet and Greet Events

Military family event
The 4th Annual Bremerton Meet & Greet was held on June 20th, 2012.  This year's event was held at Evergreen Water Front Park and turned out to be a popular event.  Over 60 attendees were able to meet Betty Underwood, Exceptional Family Member Liaison Manager, and Representative of Child Care Aware of America® (CCAA) from Virginia.  Participants shared their experiences and Mrs. Underwood was presented with a testimonial book from thankful families and providers.  Also in attendance were the the Lead Navy EFM Family Connection Support Group Liaison Lead EFMP Liaison from Bangor, Susan Vitale-Olson and volunteer family support representatives from the U.S.S. Nimitz. This year's event site allowed for children to play uninhibited outdoors, they also were entertained with arts & crafts projects, books and even a glitter tattoo artist.

New this year, a Meet and Greet was also held at the Oak Harbor Naval Base, on June 19, 2012.  There were 19 attendees as well as EFM Family Connection Support Group Representative, Georgette Anglum.   Many heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers that helped make these events a  success!

Notes From The Office:

For Navy Respite Families
Please remember to send in your tentative care schedules. Child Care Aware of America® (formerly NACCRRA) is now requiring that we do 1/2 of all Monitoring Site Visits (MSVs) to Providers as unannounced. This is unannounced to the Provider - not to Parents. We understand that your plans may change throughout the month. If you are having problems with the form, you may also e-mail dates/times in an e-mail to nashton@lcsnw.org.

For All Program Participants
As of August 1st, the Navy Respite Care Program office will be moving. We are staying at the same physical address. The new site will be the first office on the right past the reception area for Lutheran Community Services Northwest. Nancy Ashton's number will stay the same (360) 479-3489 and Rhonda McKinnie will be at (360) 373-1252.
