Welcome to the latest newsletter from the USC Neely Center for Ethical Leadership and Decision Making jointly housed in the Marshall School of Business, Sol Price School of Public Policy and the Viterbi School of Engineering.   
The Neely's Center's 2019 student ethics competition is now open to all USC Students. Submissions are invited in all areas of ethics and decision making. Please submit "intent to participate" before September 30 by e-mail to [email protected]. Finalists will present at the 2019 Neely Center Annual Conference. Winners will be awarded cash prizes and notable recognition by industry leaders.

TSA Decisions and Ethics

Neely Center Director, Ali Abbas, met with Ken Fletcher, former Chief Risk Officer of the Transportation Security A dministration ( TSA ) and one of the pioneers of the "TSA Pre" program to discuss Decision and Ethics related to the TSA.

In joint effort, the Neely Center and the National Science Foundation (NSF) hosted a six-day Summer School program in June 2018 that introduced graduate students around the country to the foundations of decision making and ethics in large systems.

Neely Center Director Ali Abbas Discusses Driverless Cars With USC News

We may continue to wait for those flying cars promised in science fiction, but who needs them when the car can drive itself?
Congress is trying to fast-track legislation that speeds the removal of federal regulatory hurdles for driverless cars. The California Department of Motor Vehicles recently revised its own regulations to allow for the testing of almost entirely autonomous vehicles on California’s streets starting in June.
