This year, Galatea Fine Art invited Charles Giuliano, Publisher/ Editor of the on line site Berkshire Fine Arts. , to select 53 works from over 342 to include in the annual New England Collective exhibition. 

For many years Mr. Giuliano was a columnist and contributing editor to Art New England and Boston correspondent for Art News. He held staff positions as a critic for the daily Boston Herald Traveler and Boston After Dark/ Phoenix. In addition to teaching art history and humanities for Suffolk University/ New England School of Art & Design he ran its gallery program focused on Boston and New England artists. He has organized exhibitions for museums and universities. He has written numerous catalogue essays as well as for the books, Pioneers from Provincetown: The Roots of Figurative Expressionism, curated by Adam Zucker, I00 Boston Painters by Chawky Frenn and Jean Gibran's Love Made Visible about the Boston sculptor, Kahlil Gibran. Since June, 2014 he has published three books of gonzo poetry with a fourth due this summer. In 1970 he coined the word gonzo.

MEMBERS' NEWS

Stephanie Angelo is included in the Cambridge Art Association's 2017 Emerging Artists exhibition, which takes place from July  6th - July 28th, 2017. The Cambridge Art Association is located in Cambridge, MA.

Richard Alan Cohen will participate in a group show, "The Visual Metric", that will take place in the Griffin Museum's gallery  in Downtown Boston at the Lafayette City Center . The show opens August 1 and will be up for three months. 

Carolyn Letvin has been juried into the Monotype Guild of New England's summer show entitled, "Small Wonders." The exhibition,  which runs until August 24, is at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts in Hopkinton, MA. 
Also, Carolyn is running a two-day palm press workshop at the Worcester Art Museum on Saturday and Sunday, July 22 and 23, from  noon to 4pm. For price and course description, go to www.worcesterart.org

Iwalani Kaluhiokalani will be showing work in "Time" at the Brickbottom Gallery in Somerville, MA. The exhibition runs until  August 19.
Iwalani will also be showing work on Martha's Vineyard with CRFT SHW at Chilmark Flea from 9-2pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  Her work will be there up until Labor Day. 
Iwalani is participating also, in "Bodies in Motion" at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The exhibition will be up for a year, ending in July of 2018.

Jane Paradise and C.J. Lori have work in the Cape Cod Art Association's "The National" show which runs until August  12th. The CCAA is located in Barnstable, MA. 
Jane Paradise also has photographs in the Black Box Gallery in Portland, OR in an exhibition called "Focus: Narrative  Photography". The exhibition runs from July 1-20.

Joe Caruso, Kirstin Ilse, Marjorie Kaye, Ruth LaGue, Hope Ricciardi, Rachel Shatil, and George Shaw are exhibiting in "Friends",  at Atlantic Works Gallery in East Boston, MA. The exhibition runs until August 19th, with a closing reception on Thursday, 
August 17th from 6-9pm.

Angela Mark will be showing paintings at Unlimited Southeby's International in Jamaica Plain, MA. The exhibition is up from  August 1-29, with an opening reception on August 3 from 6-8pm.

David Weinberg will have work in the 23rd Griffin Museum's Juried Exhibition "Ed Friedman Legacy" , which runs until September 1st.   The Griffin Museum is located in Winchester, MA.

Ronni Komarow, C.J. Lori and Marsha Nouritza Odabashian are exhibiting in "Heat" at the Faneuil Library Gallery in Brighton, MA. The exhibition runs until September 2, 2017.

George Shaw and Ruth LaGue are joined by Dominick Takis in "Surface", an exhibition at the Gallery at Spencer Lofts in Chelsea,  MA. The show runs until August 16, when there will be a closing reception from 6-9pm. In addition, there will be an artists' 
talk at 7pm.

Joe Caruso's work is included in The Summer Annual, 02127/02210, at Spoke Gallery, Medicine Wheel Productions, South Boston,  until August 18, 2017. 

Jane Paradise is included in the Johnson City Texas' A Smith Gallery's "Summertime" exhibition until July 30th.

Richard Alan Cohen is part of a two-person show at the Westport Free Library gallery in November of 2017. Richard also has work at the 555 Gallery in South Boston until July 22nd, 2017.

Jo-Ann Boback has a solo exhibition "Marking My Territory - Series II" at Colo Colo Gallery in New Bedford, MA. The exhibition  runs until July 31, 2017.

Paintings by Hope Ricciardi inspired by Boston Women's March will be shown at the artist's studio #305 at 450 Harrison in Boston  through July. Hope is joined by new work from Dominick Takis.

Lynda Michaud Cutrell has developed an exhibition of her paintings, sculptures, photographic portraits and videos entitled "The  Many Faces of Our Mental Health" for the Blue Wing Gallery at the Museum of Science, Boston. The exhibition runs to the end of  September 2017.

Carolyn Letvin is teaching a workshop on doing plein air oil monotypes on July 22-23 at the Worcester Art Museum. The workshop  runs from noon to 4. She is also a point person for palm presses, so if you are interested, email her at  [email protected].

Carolyn Newberger will be exhibiting work at the St. Botolph Club in Boston throughout the summer.
