Romans 12:1-2 (KJV)
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
SOMETIMES, the wizened old preacher said:
"
You MUST grab YOURSELF by the back of the neck and throw YOURSELF down on the Alter!!!!!!"
OR, as I preached last week:
"
A BOAT IS NOT SUNK BY THE WATER AROUND IT, BUT BY THE WATER ALLOWED IN IT!"
"
YE present YOUR bodies A LIVING SACRIFICE!"
MANY people are NOT like YOU!!
YOU/ME think other people think and act like US!!
Then WE only find disappointment when the truth emerges and THEY do NOT think/act like US.
That is when WE must "NOT be CONFORMED to THIS world, BUT be YE transformed by the RENEWING of YOUR mind!!!!!"
Oftentimes OUR minds NEED a "RENEWING/RENOVATION!"

A "RENEWING/RENOVATION" is messy work.
A "RENEWING/RENOVATION," by its very definition, requires a tearing down of the old BEFORE the "renewing."
THE OLD MAN MUST DIE!!!

Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.

In this "season of Thanksgiving," few have everything they want.
In all of OUR lives, there are "things I/We cannot change!!!"
Things that will NEVER be the same!!!!
WE MUST "FORGET those things which are behind," AND "reach forth unto those things which are BEFORE" US!!!"

WE MUST "PRESS TOWARD THE MARK FOR THE PRIZE OF THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS!"
