There I was. In pain. Alone. And on the verge of tears.
I wish there was someone here to comfort me.
As soon as the thought entered my mind, another thought came.
Maybe I should ask God if there's anything He wants to say.
Thinking about it now, I chuckle.
Of course I should ask. I want to ask! I want to know!
I want to know what God thinks. I want to hear what He has to say!
After all, He's the One with the answers! He's the One with the solutions!
And so, I did.
I asked Him.
I asked Him the simple question:
God, is there anything You want to say?
And His response?
So sweet. So gentle. So immediate.
I'll comfort you.
It was a statement. Yet almost a question.
Not pushy. Not demanding.
Only gentle. And inviting. And waiting.
I'll comfort you.
The God of the universe.
The One who formed heaven and earth.
So personal. So close.
And His invitation to me,
His invitation to comfort and
His invitation to answer,
Is His invitation to you.
So ask Him!
Whatever it is you're looking for.
Whatever it is that you need.
Ask Him.
Ask Him.
And He'll answer.
It's who He is.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
I will answer them before they even call to Me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers! Isaiah 65:24 NLT
Now may the Lord of Peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. 2 Thessalonians 3:16
