Dear Serra Alumnus,
I would like to thank our Alumni Board members for their hard work during the past school year. Our events were exceptional, and we had a record number of attendees!
All of our alumni events keep our Padres connected through the generations, and I am especially looking forward to the
Serra Homecoming and Reunion Weekend on October 11-12.
As we approach the beginning of the new school year, we welcome our newest Padres in the Class of 2023. Please help us to kick off the new school year by joining us on September 21 for our 75th anniversary celebration --
Hit the Floor, it's 1944.
We are looking forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,

Hit the floor, it's 1944! It's time for the entire Serra community--alumni, parents, faculty members and friends--to celebrate 75 years of excellence and tradition. Come in costume to honor your favorite decade!
Dance to the music of the Big Band Era, the rockin' '50s and '60s, the swingin' '70s and the totally awesome '80s and '90s. There will be era-inspired food stations, memorabilia displays and vintage cocktails. As we
celebrate the decades, prizes will be awarded for best dressed and best dancers. We hope to see you on campus on Saturday, September 21 as we celebrate Serra's 75th birthday!

Clark Chase '17 Visits St. Serra's Homeland
|
Former Serra Executive Council
President Clark Chase '17
just finished studying abroad in London with his friends.
The group took a detour to Mallorca in Spain's Balearic Islands, the home of Saint Junipero Serra. Chase took a pic in front of the St. Serra statue in the downtown area.
When his girlfriend's mom suggested a trip to Mallorca, "I immediately said, 'That's where we should go, being the good Padre that I am,'" Chase recounted.

Justin Ferdinand Named New Varsity Water Polo Coach
|
Serra Director of Athletics Justin Ferdinand
was selected as Serra's new varsity water polo coach on July 18.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to coach water polo again," said Ferdinand, who has coached high school water polo since 2000. "Water polo has been a passion of mine since I was 14. I enjoy the dynamic teamwork aspect of the sport and the rigorous training required. It's a challenging sport, and I enjoy helping teenagers learn the fundamentals while reaching their full potential in the pool."
Ferdinand, who has been busy this year in his new role at Serra, was the director of athletics at Half Moon Bay High School from 2012-2018.
"During the past year, I have had an opportunity to observe our coaches instilling Serra's core values in their sports programs," he noted. "Now I'm excited to emulate their leadership with our water polo student-athletes."
