We are in the midst of wrapping up our school year, with the anticipation of graduation at St. Mary's Cathedral on June 3. This week, our Padres are finishing their Advanced Placement testing. This year, Serra administered more AP exams, 469, than ever in school history. Good luck to our Serra scholars!
We are also looking forward to our annual golf tournament at the Peninsula Golf and County Club next month. We have sold out this event eight years in a row, and we are looking forward to another outstanding day of golf and camaraderie on June 26. See you there!
Sincerely,
Bob Greene, Jr. '85

The Serra fine and performing arts departments recently completed compelling presentations and performances. Last month's jazz concert was highlighted by renowned jazz musician Dmitri Matheny and the annual Battle of the Bands revolved around a theme of "Gone, but not forgotten: A tribute to artists we lost in 2016."
At the Spring Art Show, students and their guests raised $500 for The Memory Project, which benefits children in orphanages in Colombia. Serra students will, once again, create beautiful portraits for the children.
"We are so impressed by our artists' dedication to this wonderful community service project," said Serra Principal Lars Lund. "The Memory Project is very special. Sr. Celeste and Peggy Farrell have introduced our boys to innovative art projects, while also teaching them the importance of giving back to children in need through their extraordinary artwork."
Art Show guests purchased colorful ceramics, beautiful pastels and watercolors, and perspective drawings.

Serra's spring sports are finishing their seasons this month. Congratulations to sophomore
Brooks Taner, who earned the WCAL varsity 200 freestyle championship last weekend (
1:43.24). Also taking home a WCAL title was freshman baseball. Varsity crew will take two boats to Nationals after a great showing at the Western Regionals last weekend. Check back next month for more results from CCS competitions!
